Savannah Children's Book Festival

A few weeks ago I took Hannah and Ava to the Savannah Children's Book Festival held in beautiful Forsyth Park.

Michelle Knudsen read her award winning book, The Library Lion.

Bruce Degen, illustrator of The Magic School Bus.

Sonia Manzano (Maria on Sesame Street) read her book, A Box Full of Kittens.

The fountain was surrounded by local children's authors.

The day was quite cool under the shade of the huge trees so we found a sunny spot for our picnic.

While Hannah attempted to climb every tree in the park and enjoyed the activity tables...

...Ava was content to sit in the wagon and play with the Ernie doll she picked up at the GPB tent (crowds are not her thing - we were joined by about 20,000 others) .
